Like all questions of status and position, it’s relational. Of course, that aspect is really important no one wants a leader who is autocratic, egotistical, or devoid of charisma, but – and this may initially seem paradoxical – the essence of leadership is not solely a matter of a leader’s personality. But it’s a mistake to focus solely on the qualities the role requires.
